OK. So you’re ready to access some great content. Here’s how to get started.

Sign up or, if you’re already registered with Cable in the Classroom, go ahead and log in. It’s fast. It’s free. And it’s easy. (Of course, you can still access Cable in the Classroom’s programming information without registering. But we think you’ll appreciate all the extra tools and services that come with being a registered Cable in the Classroom user.)
Once you’ve reviewed your curriculum and decide where video material might fit, click on Program Search. Select the appropriate criteria from the drop-down menus provided, and click Search. The search engine will then display all programming that fits your search parameters.
Click on the program option that interests you to access a brief description about the program, air dates, running time, and any other pertinent information. If a learning resource for that program is available, a learning resource (apple symbol) will also be displayed. Simply click on that symbol to access the accompanying learning resource. To save your selection, simply add it to your personal resource room, click on “save selection”.
Set your VCR to tape your selection. Keep in mind that using separate video cassettes for a show or series of shows will make it easier to keep track of copyright clearance. Preview your videotaped selections to determine how the program, or portions of it, might fit with your curriculum. With Cable in the Classroom, all the programming is commercial-free, and you can use as much or as little of it as you like.
